The idea for Mitzvites was conceived by Will Bernstein, after he searched in vain for a service that would allow him to send a high quality Bat Mitzvah invitation online for his daughter’s Bat Mitzvah. Will was surprised at the poor quality and lack of choices offered by the big name services. Plus, the thought of having advertising plastered all around the invitation was not acceptable. Will called longtime friend and business partner Jess Wall on a Friday afternoon and told him about his dilemma and that he needed to create an “awesome” online Bat Mitzvah invitation for his daughter that included an engine to track RSVPs, the ability to play video, links for additional event information, driving directions, and… he needed it all done by Monday! Luckily for Will, Jess is always up for a development challenge so the two of them went to work night and day that weekend and by Monday, the first Mitzvite was born.
The first Mitzvite was so well received that Will and Jess decided at that moment there needed to be a service that was designed from the ground up for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs. And so, the idea of Mitzvites was born.
Mitzvites Trivia: Mitzvites was launched on 9/27 at 4:59pm. Was this a coincidence or maybe something else? If you add the numbers together for the date 9/27 (9 + 2 + 7) you get 18, the jewish spiritual number of “chai” or good luck . Then we added up the time: 4 + 5 + 9 and it also equaled 18! Hmmmm…
